The Welcome Reception will take place at the Tivoli Congress Center immediately after the conclusion of the Welcome & Opening remarks.

The first poster session is scheduled during the Welcome Reception.

In the footsteps of the Danish Vikings, Kings, and Queens

The destination is Roskilde that was founded by Harald Bluetooth in 980 CE. The first stop is the Viking Museum, which permanent exhibitions are focused on the five Skuldelev Ships. The goal of these exhibits is to tell the story of these ships and of the many Nordic maritime adventures during the Viking Age. Second stop is Roskilde Cathedral that has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995. Let the kings and queens of Denmark take you on a journey through 800 years of history. From Viking kings to Gothic architecture across the Reformation up until the finished funeral monument for Denmark's current queen Margrethe 2.

The magnificent royal castles in Northern Zealand

The tour starts with a short stop at Frederiksborg Castle, built as a royal residence for King Christian IV of Denmark-Norway and become is the largest Renaissance residence in Scandinavia. Here you will have the opportunity to visit the picturesque Baroque Garden with a fantastic view of the Castle. The second stop is Hillerød the setting of Kronborg Castle. Immortalised as Elsinore in William Shakespeare's play Hamlet, Kronborg is one of the most important Renaissance castles in Northern Europe. It was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2000.

Copenhagen City and Canal Tour

Although that Copenhagen through history has suffered from several devastating fires as well as the British bombardment in 1807, the city is well-known for its amazing royal palaces, imposing historical landmarks as well as modern and world-famous architecture. Christiansborg Palace, Carlsberg Glyptotek, Copenhagen City Hall and Rosenborg Palace are just some of highlights you will see. The tour will make stops at the Little Mermaid and Amalienborg Palace the home of the Danish Royal family and Nyhavn, where you will board the canal boat. The canal tour will expose Copenhagen and its beauty from the water's edge and reveal hidden gems.

Price: DKK 285** including private bus transfers and guides on the bus and the Canal Boat.

Booking terms & conditions:

  • Tours can be booked and paid online together with the registration for the ESOC 2025.
  • Booked tours can be cancelled free of charge until May 30. No refund will apply for cancellation made from June 1.
  • In the unlikely event that the Organizer has to cancel any of the tours, the concerned guests will be offered to change to another tour or to have the paid fee fully refunded.   
  • *The tours are based on minimum 40 reservations

  • All tours will start in front of the Tivoli Congress Center. The guests are kindly requested to announce their presence no later than hrs. 13:45 as the buses will leave punctual at hrs. 14:00.
